The tutoring strand of our company, however, is hiring tutors, substitute tutors, site leaders, and district coaches. See the links provided for information on the responsibilities of each position. AI SES Tutor

Attend all required training sessions.
Administer, score, and record data from pre- and post-assessments.
Plan lessons, using SOL-aligned resources and the AI Lesson Plan format.
Make copies needed for instruction ahead of time.
Keep and report online a log of student attendance.
Work directly with students, implementing tutorial sessions as prescribed on the AI Lesson Plan form.
Model and emphasize development of decoding and reading comprehension skills on all passages read.
Demonstrate and emphasize test-taking strategies during test practice and review activities.
Teach effectively, assess skill(s) taught, score assessments expediently, and record/report scores online.
Move forward, review, or re-teach skills as needed, based on analysis of assessment scores.
Communicate lesson planning, pacing, and student progress with the students’ classroom teacher.
Provide classroom management conducive to learning and facilitate positive group tone.
Always be present, prompt, prepared, professional, and productive.
If you must be absent, provide advance notification.
Less than 24-hour notice of absence, without doctor’s excuse, will result in loss of pay.

AI SES Site Leader

All responsibilities specified for tutors.
Keep tutor sign-in sheets to give to the AI SES District Coach.
Keep tutors reminded to enter assessment data on line.
Serve as liaison between tutors and the school’s SES Coordinator.
Make sure materials are returned to the AI bin daily.
Notify AI SES District Coach of any site concerns/needs.

AI SES District Coach

Attend all required trainings.
Assist with hiring, training, and termination of tutors as requested.
Attend district meetings as requested.
Distribute, collect and inventory materials.
Request materials as needed.
Report tutors’ time online for payroll.
Provide substitute tutors when needed and fill in if emergency arises.
Observe tutorial sessions, assuring that the AI Lesson Plan format is used effectively.
Make sure tutors are entering assessment data online.

AI SES Substitute Tutor

Attend all required training sessions.
Execute planned lessons, using SOL-aligned resources and the AI Lesson Plan format.
Make copies needed for instruction ahead of time if copies have not been made.
Provide for the tutor a log of student attendance.
Work directly with students, implementing tutorial sessions as prescribed on the AI Lesson Plan form.
Model and emphasize development of decoding and reading comprehension skills on all passages read.
Demonstrate and emphasize test-taking strategies during test practice and review activities.
Teach effectively, assess skill(s) taught, and leave assessments for the tutor.
Provide classroom management conducive to learning and facilitate positive group tone.
